Meaning: In whose family there is no fault? Whom do diseases not grieve? Who does not get sorrow and who is constantly happy, that is, something is lacking everywhere, and this is a bitter truth.

Following are the seven chakras-

1. Muladhara or Root chakra-Muladhara is the basic foundation in our body. It is associated with the base of the spine, the pelvic floor, and the first three vertebrate, and responsible for an individual’s sense of security and survival. It’s sturdy, stabilize and supportive, keeping everything safely connected as long as it’s function properly. It also connects with our basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and safety. It influences our passion, creativity, youthfulness, vitality and our basic survival instincts. It also represents our physical strength, our sexuality and the flight and fight response that tends to activate within our body when we sense danger.

Physical location-The bottom of our spine(where our tailbone is located.).

We may also find that we can’t concentrate and that we are constantly preoccupied with worries about our well being. Physical issues potentially caused by a blocked root chakra include a sore lower back, low energy levels, and cold extremities.

When all is well with this chakra, we feel secure, calm, and anchored in reality. We will be bold enough to tackle new challenges and w feel confident doing so. To keep this chakra healthy, exercises such as dancing, jogging or jumping are beneficial.

2. Svadhisthana or Pelvic chakra-The Svadhisthana is the key to our creative energy. It is not only related to pursuits of artistry and imagination but also our sexuality and our capacity for change in all areas of life.

Physical location-In the middle of the abdomen, roughly two inches below the belly button.

Issues-When this chakra is not balanced we feel uninspired, bored, or listless, emotionally unstable, guilty. This can also be associated with physical sexual dysfunction, while also potentially experiencing fear of change, depression, or addiction-like behaviours.

When this chakra is aligned, we feel like great; we are friendly, passionate, and successfully fulfilled while also eliciting feelings of wellness, abundance, pleasure and joy. When this is balanced, we feel creative, positive, and receptive to change-like the ocean and its tides, we are in the flow.

Physical difficulties associated with a blocked Manipura chakra may include digestive discomforts, like tummy ache of some kind such as digestive issue or gas and troubles with memory.

When this chakra is balanced, we feel alive and have self-esteem and confidence to take action and be productive. By working on this chakra, we can awaken our true personal inner power and work through our fear of taking risks.

4. Anahata or Heart chakra-Anahata chakra is connected to our capacity for love and compassion in all their forms. It is described as a bridge between the mind, body and spirit. We may also stay isolated for fear of rejection, difficulty in fully opening up to the people. When this chakra is not aligned it can give way to grief, anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal, and hate towards yourself and others.

Physically this chakra relates to the heart the thymus gland(which plays a vital role in our endocrine and lymphatic system), the lungs and the breasts. When this chakra is aligned and balanced, love and compassion are flowing freely-both in terms of giving it out and getting it back. Its the awakening to the spiritual awareness, forgiveness and service. Healthy relationships, pet, family, even appreciation of beauty and nature enhance the health of this chakra.

When it is functioning at full capacity, it allows us to express ourselves truly and clearly. Physically this chakra is associated with the thyroid, parathyroid, jaw, neck, mouth, tongue and larynx. Physically, this blockage can manifest itself as a sore throat, thyroid issues, neck and shoulder stiffness, or tension, headaches. Singing, chanting and breathing exercises can enhance the health of this chakra.

6. Ajna or third eye chakra-Ajna chakra roughly translates to the centre of knowledge or monitoring. This chakra is associated with our intuition, or sixth sense, and governs how rest of the chakra function. Think of it as the eye of the soul, it registers information beyond the surface level. It is also responsible for all things between us and the outside world, serving as a bridge between the two, allowing us to see through any illusions and drama to see the clear picture. Insight, intuition, awareness and guidance are the properties of this sixth chakra.

This is like psychological paralysis. If this chakra is blocked, we might have trouble sleeping, feel clumsy, and struggle to learn new things.

When this chakra opens, it opens our mind to the bigger picture and different perspectives, and it helps us receive the wisdom that cannot be seen or heard by ordinary senses. Organs including the pituitary gland, pineal gland, eye, head, and lower part of the brain are said to be ruled by the third eye chakra. Those who have a harmoniously balanced third eye chakra have a charming and charismatic mind, they do not fear death or troubles, and they also have powerful telepathic abilities.

7. Sahasrara or crown chakra-The crown chakra is the highest chakra, sits at the crown of the head and represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually. It is also referred to as the “Thousand petal lotus” chakra. It is the centre of enlightenment and our spiritual connection to our higher selves, others, and ultimately the divine.

Colour-Violet/white

Elements-Thought/Divine consciousness.

Bija mantra-OM

Message-: I am that I am”.

What it controls-Inner and outer beauty and spiritual connections.

Issues-A crown chakra blockage may create a feeling of isolation or emotional distress-basically feeling disconnected from everyone and everything. We might not see the beauty in the world at all. When it is closed we are attached to the physical world and pleasure, we think happiness can come only from the outside, and we suffer.

It is vital in creating a life you love, and in attaining a feeling of peace. When it is opened, we will be in tune with beauty in the world around us. It can provide us with some extremely powerful abilities and potentials, including the ability to transcends all barriers created by the law of nature, to possess an increased awareness of death and immortality, heightened spiritual powers. The realizations that occur within us are said to be along the lines of pure awareness, consciousness, undivided, and all expansive. Basically, bigger than ourselves and yet part of the giant universe. It connects to beauty itself and the spiritual realms. It helps us to understand who we are beyond our physical self-than you are a spiritual being having a human experience.

Through Yoga practice such as Pranayam, meditation and kriyas, Ida and Pingla(emotion and consciousness) are purified and brought into balance, and eventually, the energy flows upwards along the Sushumna Nadi to the Sahasrara chakra. Purification of the Nadis and chakra means to develop their sensitivity through the regular practice of Yoga. At the beginning certain emotions can also become stronger depending upon our predisposition, but when the wisdom of Kundalini awakens all these phenomena are only temporary and disappears.

The chakras work on several levels and aspects of our existence. Important glands and nerves nodes are located within the areas of the main chakras and as we open and harmonise the chakras with breathing exercises, meditation, asanas and the repetition of mantras we also influence and balance the physical functions associated with them.
